Municipal Finance & Services Corp. (“MFSC”) is committed to maintaining a robust privacy policy for its users.   Company or User information collected by MFSC is designed to improve your MFSC experience. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how MFSC collects, uses, shares and secures the personal information you provide.

This Policy governs the manner in which MFSC collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.mfsamerica.com website (“Site”) and its products and services. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.

Personal identification information

MFSC may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit the Site, register on the Site, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources made available on the Site. Cookies

MFSC and its analytics or service providers may use cookies or similar tracking technologies. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the Site, tracking users’ movements around the Site and gathering demographic information about MFSC’s user base as a whole. Widgets

MFSC’s Site includes Social Media Features, such as showing a Twitter feed. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on the MFSC Site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on the MFSC Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy, if any, of the company providing it.

How MFSC uses collected information

MFSC may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

• Information you provide helps MFSC to respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
• To personalize user experience
• MFSC may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on the MFSC Site.

Updating/Correcting Personal Information

Upon request MFSC will provide you with information about whether MFSC is holding any of your personal information.  If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire MFSC’s service, you may access, update, or delete it by making the change on MFSC’s member information page or also through the contact details mentioned above.

Data Retention

MFSC will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that MFSC no longer use your information to provide you services, please contact us at support@MFSC.com. MFSC will retain and use your information to the extent necessary and permissible under applicable law to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

How MFSC protects your information

MFSC is committed to adopting appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on the Site.

Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, MFSC cannot guarantee its absolute security. Sharing your personal information

MFSC will not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. MFSC may share information regarding visitors and users with its business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers. MFSC may share your information with these third parties for those purposes and by using the Site, you permit MFSC to use your personal identification information as outlined herein. 

MFSC may also disclose your personal information as required by law such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process when MFSC believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect its rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.  If MFSC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, MFSC will attempt to e notify Users  via notice on the  Site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

Third party websites

Users may find advertising or other content on the Site that link to the sites and services of MFSC partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. MFSC does not control the content or links that appear on these sites and is not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from the Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to the MFSC Site, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Blog

MFSC’s Site may offer publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information that you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog or community forum, please contact MFSC at support@MFSC.com. In some cases, MFSC may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case MFSC is committed to notifying Users that it is   unable to do so.

Testimonials

MFSC may display personal testimonials of satisfied customers on the Site in addition to other endorsements.  MFSC may post your testimonial along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, please  contact MFSC at contactus@MFSC.com.

Collection and Use of 3rd Party Personal Information

You may provide personal information about other people, such as their name, email address, phone number and job title. When you provide MFSC with personal information about your contacts MFSC is committed to y using this information for the specific reason for which it is provided. If you believe that one of your contacts has provided MFSC with your personal information and you would like to request that it be removed from the MFSC database, please contact MFSC at support@MFSC.com.

Information Related to Data Collected through the MFSC

MFSC may collect information under the direction of its Clients, and may not have a direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes.

Choice

MFSC collects information for Clients.  If you are a customer of a Client and would no longer like to be contacted by that Client, please contact the Client that you interact with directly.

Service Provider, Sub-Processors/Onward Transfer

MFSC may transfer personal information to companies that help  MFSC provide its service (“third parties”). Transfers of such information to  third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy.

Access to Data Controlled by our Clients

MFSC acknowledges that you have the right to access your personal information. MFSC may not have a direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data that is controlled by an MFSC Client should direct his or her query to MFSC’s Client (the “data controller”). If the Client requests MFSC to remove the data, MFSC will respond to that request within a reasonable timeframe.

Governing Language

This Policy is entered into in the English language.  Any translation prepared for any reason shall be a non-binding accommodation of no legal effect, and the English version of this Policy shall govern.  All communications with respect to this Policy shall be in the English language.  Without limiting the generality of this provision, User acknowledges that: (i) it shall not assert any claim based upon any translation or any discrepancy or purported discrepancy between such translation and this English-language version of this Policy; and (ii) any such translation shall not be used to interpret this Policy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

MFSC has the discretion to update this Policy at any time. If any changes are made  to how MFSC uses your personal information, you  will be notified by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective, which may be limited to a change to the Policy and the publishing of the change on the Site. You are encouraged  to periodically review this page for the latest information on privacy practices.

Your acceptance of these terms
